He is a native New Yorker who has called Cobb County, Georgia home since 1995.
He began his career in New York City with the investment bank Dean Witter Reynolds (Morgan Stanley) and later served as a senior consultant with KPMG, LLP. Over the last 16 years he has served as a senior leader in higher education at institutions including Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine and Southern Polytechnic State University.
He serves as an Associate Professor of Finance at the Jack Welch Management Institute at Strayer University as is a part-time instructor of non-profit financial management with the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta’s Volunteer Involvement Program (VIP).
In September 2014, he was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal to the Georgia Postsecondary Education Commission where he served as Chairman and Vice Chair.
His community involvement includes service as a member of the Atlanta Advisory Board of Truist Bank (formerly BB&T/SunTrust) and also served on the board of the non-profit Silence the Shame whose mission is to empower and enrich the lives of those in underserved communities around mental health, youth empowerment and poverty.
He previously served as chairman of the City of Marietta Ethics Review Board. From 2000-2007 he served on the Board of Directors of Marietta Board of Lights and Water (MBLW). He’s a 2013 graduate of Leadership Cobb; “The best class ever”.

He received a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Syracuse University (Go Orangemen) ; a Master of Public Administration from Clark Atlanta University; a Master of Science in accounting from Kennesaw State University and a doctorate in higher education leadership from the University of Georgia.
