Feeling Your Way Into Your Dream Life – 3 Simple Ways To Get What You Want Now

Ok, so you’ve got the affirmations down.  You’ve read the books, you’ve listened to the podcasts. You’re doing yoga, meditating, (got that green smoothie on deck filled with vibration raising super-foods and such) and your Eryka Badu bumpin in the background.  So why in God’s green creation is your life still the same?  Why aren’t things changing for you?  Why are you still stuck, stagnant and so far from your dream life that you wonder if you missed the turn to get there?

One simple word…feelings.  I was listening to an amazing audible book on this subject called “Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting”, by Lynn Grabhorn.  I HIGHLY recommend this book if you are looking to create a life you love. In her book, Grabhorn so eloquently outlines why feelings matter.

See, it’s not the words, the affirmations, the yoga or even that high vibrating drink that will propel you out of your current funk and get you closer to your desires.  It’s the feeling behind everything that you are doing or not doing.  How you feel about what you are doing is what makes the difference.  This is one of the main reason that I named this blog the joyful dream life.  If you are not acting with joy, then the likelihood that you will see your dreams manifest into reality is slim.  The feeling behind your actions is what creates the vibration, energy and momentum that is necessary to make things happen.

If you are feeling stuck in this area try these 3 simple tips.

  • Appreciation If you start to feel bad when you ponder your desires, it’s probably because your longing for it is attached to feelings of NOT having it.  Try thinking of it with appreciation instead and see if you feel a shift.  For example if you’re dreaming about a new couch that you feel you can’t afford, try appreciating its design, bright color that makes you smile or even the craftsman’s hands that actually made it.
  • Act as If – Instead of focusing on the lack of…instead play a game of what if, like when you were a kid.  Start imagining the feeling of the butter soft leather of that couch on your legs or the laughter of friends and family as they sit on the couch at your next gathering.  Notice the feelings that come up and focus on those instead of the lack of…
  • Gratitude – Start to feel grateful for it now!  Let those feelings of gratitude wash over you so much so until you are overjoyed and thankful with the firm knowledge that what you desire is always seeking you too!
