About Lashawnda Becoats
Before leaving the Charlotte Observer Newspaper, Lashawnda Becoats had a powerful vision for herself. What followed after her departure from her job of 12 years was a new lease on life inspired by her desire to live free of inhibition and fear. For Lashawnda, letting go of the corporate lifestyle she had grown accustomed to meant embracing who she really was both literally and figuratively speaking. She knew that the next phase of her life had to revolve around her bold and adventurous attitude. Whether it’s the choice to flaunt her naturally gray crown or exploring the world to experience different cultures, her passion for living gave birth to her personal motto: Run Toward Your Life.
Today, the gray haired, world traveling, mother of three adult children and a dog son Louis Vuitton is a certified life coach specializing in relationships. Since the inception of Lashawnda’s life coaching brand, Run Toward Your Life, she has built an audience of dedicated fans who frequent her Instagram account for their fix of Forty Plus Courting love advice, laughs, and the motivation to live a life full of possibilities. She also continues to work as the editor-in-chief of Pride magazine, a Black publication that has been in the Charlotte, N.C. community for over 25 years.
Next up, modeling. Lashawnda was recently scouted and signed to a modeling agency based in London and has stepped into the over-40 modeling arena, a career she had not considered before. What’s her secret to managing it all? “Staying balanced and realistic, lots of rest and believing in myself.”
