Who is Doug Davis?

His career in broadcasting began after his sophomore year in college when he changed majors from Business Administration to Mass Communications. As a senior, he became Student Program Director, interned at WDAS-FM under legendary Program Director Butterball Tamburro and in Washington D.C. at WRC-TV (CBS) under the tutelage of Emmy Award winner Lea Thompson. Upon graduating Doug secured a position in Television/Radio at Cox Radio, Incorporated WHIO-TV/FM/AM Dayton as an A.M. News Anchor on the radio side and Assignment Editor on the Television side.

His desire to break into the Urban landscape of broadcasting manifested a few years later, crossing over to WROU-FM/Dayton part-time as weekend mix-show jock and later Mix-Show DJ/Street Team Coordinator. For the next three years Doug was part time and began creating events, learning the basics of programming, and writing copy for a young sales genius, Sherman Kizart,

Landing his first full time Urban radio job at Clear Channel WJMZ-FM/Greenville Doug spent the next 10 years in the market honing his craft. holding various positions from Production/Image Director to Promotions/Marketing Director, Midday host, Assistant Program Director to eventually becoming the one of the youngest Program Directors in the business. This established a strong skill set in promotions/marketing music, events and non-traditional revenue.

Sales and marketing became the only position necessary to round out his experience. Walking across the street to Entercom as a local Sales Executive allowed Doug to acquire the basic fundamentals of selling. After one year, Doug accepted an Urban Sales Manager position for Cumulus Radio. Almost a year later, the position was eliminated and he transferred back into programming becoming Program Director for CHR/RHY WEAS-FM/WDAI-FM Myrtle Beach. After a few years, he relocated within the company to historic KMJJ-FM Shreveport. Three years later Doug traveled to Savannah to re-ignite Urban properties WEAS-FM and WTYB-FM for Cumulus Radio. In 2014, programming four radio stations for the company (WEAS-FM/KMJJ-FM/WTYB-FM/WDAI-FM) along with hosting a local morning show.

In 2017, Doug accepted an opportunity to work as Program Director/Executive Producer for the acclaimed “The Michael Baisden Show”, a nationally syndicated radio show. Just recently Doug accepted a new position as News Anchor/Programming at Black Information Network (BIN).
